CarpoNovum welcomes Tom Øresland as new Chief Medical Officer

CarpoNovum is delighted to welcome Tom Øresland to the position of Chief Medical Officer (CMO). Tom joined the Board of Directors at the Annual General Meeting in June 2025 and has already proven to be an invaluable clinical resource, bringing vast experience and insight within the field of colorectal surgery.

Professor Øresland, Professor Emeritus at the University of Oslo, has worked as a colorectal surgeon for nearly half a century. He has published extensively in the field, with particular focus on inflammatory bowel disease, and has a strong international presence through his active roles within the European Society of Coloproctology (ESCP) and as an elected member of the International Organisation for the Study of Inflammatory Bowel Diseases (IOIBD). In addition, he has long been involved in the development of surgical innovations, aligning closely with CarpoNovum’s mission.

CarpoNovum would also like to extend its sincere thanks to Dr. Manish Chand, outgoing CMO, for his outstanding contribution in shaping the company’s clinical strategy, enabling the initiation of key clinical studies, and establishing CarpoNovum as a recognized name within the global colorectal surgical community.

Change in the Board of Directors of CarpoNovum AB

Board member Björn Olsen, at his own request, has resigned from the Board of Directors of CarpoNovum. The Nomination Committee has been informed and will present its proposal for the Board of Directors of the company at the Annual General Meeting on June 11, 2025.

"I would like to thank Björn for all his efforts in the Board's work over the past two years, not least on issues related to the medical field. Even though we have not had the same opinion on all issues, Björn has always looked out for the best interests of the company and with a strong patient focus," says Otto Drakenberg, Chairman of the Board.

We welcome Nick Crockatt, Clinical Trial Coordinator at CarpoNovum AB

His extensive experience has given him deep clinical expertise and a keen understanding of the healthcare landscape.
